I found this on Myspace and I would like to spread the word further. I firmly believe it is the the training or the temperment of the individual dog, not the breed that matters. My older sister has a purebred female Rotweiler. Sunny thinks she's a puppy or a child. She's loyal and loving, goofy and sweet. The only time she'll ever growl is if you threaten the children in her family, which include my younger sisters and my 11 year old niece(my sister's daughter). These children wrestle with her, sleep with her in the same tent on family vacation, and she sleeps guarding the door to my niece's room every night. She was not asked to do this. She does it because she loves unconditionally. She was abused, they rescued her, and their patience through her adjustment period that lasted more than a year payed off. She is one of the best dogs I've ever known. This is why I say put a stop to breed legislation on pitbulls. If that legislation passes then they'll come for breeds like Rotweiller's next. Sunny doesn't deserve that and neither do these dogs. Read more... )
